CHAPMAN - The website Sports in Kansas has named Chapman senior McKenna Kirkpatrick as one of its top Class 4A players in girls basketball.

Kirkpatrick helped lead her Lady Irish team to one of its best seasons in several years that culminated with an appearance at the 2020 Class 4A State Tournament. A unanimous first team All-NCKL player, Kirkpatrick was a leading scorer in the conference and rose up the ranks within the state.

Joining Kirkpatrick on the Class 4A list of Players of the Year finalists are Ava Jones, Nickerson, Clara Edwards, Clay Center, Harper Schreiner, Eudora, Ashton and Peyton Verhulst of Bishop Miege, Evelyn Vasquez and Ali Vigil of Kansas City Piper and Kori Babcock of Chanute.

Sports in Kansas will announce their Player of the Year honorees this week.
