HAYS — Nothing came easy for the Abilene Bandits who dropped a pair of games to Hays on Thursday. The home team won the opener 12-3 and game two 16-0 of the Junior Babe Ruth League.

Abilene jumped to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first as Heath Hoekman hit a 2 RBI sacrifice.

Hays pulled away for good with seven runs in the inning.

Karsen Loader took the loss for Abilene. He allowed seven hits and seven runs over two innings, striking out three and walking one.

Samuel Burton, Loader, and Brenton Reiff each managed one hit to lead the Bandits.

Hays scored 12 runs in the first inning in the second game. Michael McClanahan managed the lone hit for the Bandits.
