MARYSVILLE — The Abilene Cowgirl volleyball team dropped both matches of a North Central Kansas League dual at Marysville on Tuesday.

Abilene opened with a very close 28-26 win in the opening set only to struggle the rest of the match with consistency and eliminating errors.

“Our passing continues to be an area of concern,” Abilene head coach Mike Jantz said. “We are giving up too many points on serve receive.”

Marysville took the first match by winning the next two sets 25-21, 25-13.

In the second match the Cowgirls played with more energy according to Jantz but still gave up too many strings of points.

“We weren’t able to get enough put together late in the sets to get over the hump,” he said. “Credit Marysville as they attacked the ball aggressively and played a good couple of matches.”

The Cowgirls took both the junior varsity and freshmen matches. The JV won 25-14, 25-20 and 25-17, 23-25, 15-3. The freshmen defeated Marysville 25-13, 25-23.
