The Abilene Bandits junior Babe Ruth baseball team rebounded from a pair of setbacks to hit their way over Salina for a 7-2 win.

Michael McClanahan and Braden Wells led the Abilene attack as the Bandits pounded two Salina hurlers for nine hits. McClanahan went three for four at the plate and drove in a run while Wells slapped a pair of hits to score two Abilene runners.

Salina struck first with two runs in the top of the first but the Bandits came right back to tie the score with two of their own. Abilene added two runs in the third, a single run in the fifth and two more in the sixth for the 7-2 final.

Chris McClanahan started on the hill for Abilene and tossed the first two innings allowing two earned runs on two hits. He walked one while striking out four. Ayden Taylor was credited with the win after pitching the next two frames of two hit ball. He struck out two and walked one. Karsen Loader pitched two innings of relief allowing one hit and striking out three. Wells tossed the final inning for Abilene.

Offensively, Chris McClanahan, Loader, Samuel Burton and Brady Fitzgeralds added hits for the Bandits.

Michael McClanahan drove in the first run of the game for Abilene in the first as he plated Braden Adams who had walked and advanced on a hit by Chris McClanahan. Chris scored the Bandits second run in the first on a bases loaded walk to Loader.
