ANDALE – The undefeated Andale Indians put an end to the magical football season of the Chapman Fighting Irish Friday night with a 66-22 victory at Andale.

The Irish completed the 2018 campaign with a 7-3 record.

Senior quarterback Izek Jackson threw for one touchdown and rushed for two more but that was not enough for the Irish against the top ranked Indians. Jackson led the Irish in rushing with 88 yards on 18 carries while Dalton Harvey racked up 65 yards on 16 carries and Blake Vercher had 42 yards on nine totes. Anthony Wasylk added 25 yards on four carries for Chapman.

Jackson completed three of five passes for 52 yards and tossed a touchdown to senior receiver Brandon Colston for Chapman’s third score.

The Irish aided the Indians with three turnovers in the game.

Vercher and Jackson led the Irish in tackles with 10 each. Aaron Litzinger recorded eight and Zach Ferris had and Colston had six apiece. Kobey Stroud recorded an eight-yard sack against the Indians’ quarterback.

Colston recovered two Andale fumbles for the Irish.

Chapman, the NCKL champion, had gotten to the second round of the Class 3A playoffs with a 48-14 win over Clearwater the week before.

The Irish rebounded from a 1-8 first season under second-year head coach Kurt Webster to finish undefeated in league play and end at 7-3 in 2018.
