Abilene High School cheer squad headed

for KSHSAA Game Day Spirit Showcase

The Abilene High School cheerleaders have been invited to the Third Annual KSHSAA Game Day Spirit Showcase in Topeka on Saturday. Abilene is returning as a Class 4A representative for the third consecutive year. The AHS squad will be one of 19 Class 4A schools to participate in the competition. This event is an all class competition and each level of competition will perform three routines in front of a professional panel of judges. The six finalists in each class will then compete in championship format. Abilene cheer coaches Kim Funston and Becky Stout have been working with the Cheer Squad in preparation for the state event.

Previous winners at Spirit Day were Class 6A – OP Blue Valley North; 5A – Shawnee Heights; 4A – KC Piper; 3A – Cheney and 2A-1A Ellis.
