Cowboys defeat Clay Center, tie for first in league
Abilene snapped a five-year losing streak when the Cowboy wrestlers defeated Clay Center with a decisive, 51-24, dual victory Thursday. Not only did the Cowboys defeat their wrestling rivals, they put themselves in a position to share the North Central Kansas League title, something Clay Center has won the past five years. “In the past 16 years we’re up 9-7,” said Abilene coach James Stout, who was elated to get a win. “Those five (losses) in a row were hard to take.
