Naomi Hartman, 98, of Elmo, died Monday, Nov. 13, 2017, at McCall Manor Plus in Salina.

She was born Oct. 11, 1919, the daughter of William and Hazel (Milner) Chamblin. She was united in marriage to Johnnie L. Hartman Feb. 27, 1940, in Eureka. All of their married life was spent farming in the Elmo area. She was a member of the New Basel United Church of Christ.

Naomi is survived by her daughter, Janice Burns (Eugene) of Salina; four grandchildren, Jonette Penton (Jeff), Paula Marshall (Aaron), John Burns (Linda) and Curtis Burns; six great-grandchildren, Connor and Elizabeth Penton, Matthew and Caroline Marshall, Tyler Burns and Hunter Burns.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Carolyn Betts in May 2000 and loving husband Johnnie on June 9, 2006.

Funeral Services will be 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, at the New Basel United Church of Christ, 1075 1100 Avenue, Abilene, with Pastor William Graves officiating. Burial will follow at the New Basel Cemetery. Family will receive friends Thursday from 1 p.m. until service time at the New Basel United Church of Christ.

The family suggests memorials be given to the New Basel United Church of Christ.  Memorials may be dropped off or mailed to Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home, 414 NW Third St., Abilene, KS 67410.
