Nancy Sams

Nancy Louise Sams, a former longtime Abilene, Kansas, resident, now of Cushing, passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2019, at the age of 68 years.

The daughter of the late Frank James and Bernice Williams James, Nancy was born on Aug. 1, 1950, in Yale, Oklahoma. She moved to Abilene, Kansas, with her parents and family and was raised and educated in Abilene, graduating from Abilene High School.

Nancy was employed with Kansas Power & Light for over 20 years.

She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her daughter Michelle Everett of Lawrence, Kansas, one sister Susanne Howell and her husband Robert of Cushing, one brother Frank Douglas James of Twin Falls, Idaho, and several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Jimmy Leon James, Elizabeth James, Darrell Lee James and Michael David James.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, April 30, 2019, at 11 a.m. in Highland Cemetery at Oilton with Pastor Kevin Vogele, pastor of River of Life Christian Church of Drumright.
