Funeral services for Michael A. “Mike” Piros, 46, of Abilene and formerly of Hutchinson, will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, at the First United Methodist Church in Abilene with the Reverend John Collins and the Reverend Jenny Collins officiating.  Michael died Thursday, Nov. 3, 2016, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, Mo.

He was born Jan. 26, 1970, in Hutchinson, the son of Jim and Sandra (Dyche) Piros. He graduated from Buhler High School and attended Hutchinson Community College.  

Mike was the assistant manager of Dillon’s in Hutchinson for several years and recently worked for Advance Auto Parts Distribution Center in Salina.

Mike was an avid KU Jayhawk fan following all aspects of KU sports. Along with sports he loved being with his family. Mike also had a passion for promoting organ donation and sharing his heart transplant journey.

Mike is survived by his sons, Austin of Statesboro, Ga., Parker of Overland Park, and Tristan of Halstead; his daughter, Mara of Olathe; his brother, Don and his wife Andrea of Wichita; niece Hannah Piros and nephew Sawyer Piros of Wichita; grandmother Rosie Dyche of Hutchinson;  his loving companion, Angie Hoerner, of Abilene; and several aunts and  cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Graveside services for Michael will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Hutchinson. Michael’s family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
