Jennifer (York) Haslett, a long time resident of Grandview Plaza, Junction City, KS, and most recently Manhattan, KS, passed away Oct. 5, 2018 at Via Christi Village, Manhattan, KS.

Jennifer was born May 12, 1948 in Junction City, KS. Her parents were Lester Frank and Lucille (Vera) Schultz York. She attended Junction City schools and graduated from Junction City High School in 1966. She attended beauty school in Manhattan, KS and was a cosmetologist for 2 years; her license was still current.

She was also employed at the United Telephone Company from 1968 until her retirement in 1988. Jennifer was married to Billy Leroy Haslett on July 3, 1979 at the First Christian Church in Junction City, KS. They were married for over 35 years before Bill’s passing on Dec. 25, 2014.

She helped with Haslett Tree Service for over 25 years and also provided elderly care. She enjoyed buying, selling and trading and could often be found shopping in antique shops and thrift stores. More than anything, she loved spending time with her family and friends and will be dearly missed by all.

She is survived by son Bryan (Jo Ann) Haycook of Junction City, KS, daughter Shanna (Jeff) Mittie of Manhattan, KS, step-daughters Charlene (Fred) Winkler of Fort Worth, TX, Kathy (Chuck) Kern of Seattle, WA, and Patricia (David) Bedwell of Topeka, KS. Between Jennifer and Bill they were blessed with 16 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Jennifer is also survived by her brother Jeffrey York of Junction City, KS and brother-in-law James Walker of Milford, KS.

Graveside services for family and friends will be held at the Highland Cemetery, 703 W. Ash, Junction City, KS, on Friday, Oct. 12, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. There will be a lunch provided for family following the service.

Memorials may be given to the Terry C. Johnson Center for Basic Research at Kansas State University, 1 Chalmers Hall, 1711 Claflin Rd., Manhattan, KS 66506. They can also be sent in care of the Londeen Funeral Chapel, Box 429, Chapman, KS, 67431.
