James (Jim) Lee Reaka, born March 21, 1948 in Strong City, Kansas, to the late Voyt and Nellie Reaka (Lundeen).

At the age of 70, Jim passed away on Oct. 5, 2018 at his home in Junction. Jim served in the Army from 1969 to 1975 and was in the Vietnam War from 1969 to 1970. He worked most of his life at Walker Stone Company as a heavy equipment operator. Jim was preceded in death by his brother Lyle Reaka.

In 1971 Jim married Mary J. Ertl (Feeney), later divorcing, they had one daughter Leann Danner (Reaka). He is survived by his daughter Leann of Abilene, KS, granddaughter Adreinne Danner of Hays, KS, and grandson Lukas Danner of Manhattan, KS.

Jim enjoyed fishing, teaching the grandkids about hunting, and tinkering on old cars and motorcycles. In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent to the American Legion Post #240, P.O. Box 103 Chapman, KS 67431.

A small memorial service with military honors is scheduled on Saturday, Oct. 20, 11 a.m. at the American Legion Post #240, Chapman, KS, for friends and family to gather and pay their respects.
