CHAPMAN — Isadean L. (Blanc) Spangler passed away July 24, 2018 at Memorial Hospital in Abilene, Kansas at the age of 85 years.
She was born March 24, 1933 at Skiddy, Kansas, to Walter and Dorothy (Kruger) Blanc, Sr. She married Paul Spangler Feb. 2, 1957 at her parents’ home in Chapman, Kansas.
Growing up, Isadean attended grade school in the Skiddy area and then attended Dickinson County Community High School and graduated with the class of 1951. She worked at Dockhorn Drug Store in Chapman and Bankes Drug Store in Abilene. She later worked at the ALCO Warehouse as an order picker until she retired.
Isadean loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening and crafts. She was active with the American Legion Auxiliary and the Chapman Rebekahs. One of her proudest moments was last year when she was selected as one of the Co-Grand Marshalls for the Chapman Labor Day Parade.
Survivors include sons Maurice Spangler, Spartenburg, South Carolina, Calvin (Cathy) Spangler of Abilene, Kansas, two grandchildren, one great-grandchild, sister Verona, sister-in-law Wilma Beemer, Gretna, Nebraska and brother-in-law Norman Spangler, Carlton, Kansas and many nieces and nephews.
The family chose cremation and a graveside memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on August 7 at the Indian Hill Cemetery in Chapman, Kansas
