Dean McAsey, 73, of Bloomington, IN., was called home after his journey with cancer on Sunday, Sept. 2, 2018, in Fresno, CA.

He was born July 31, 1945 in Atchinson, KS, the second son of Norman and Maxine (Hood) McAsey.

Dean graduated from ACCHS in Effingham, KS. His love and passion for sports, kids and education led him to work within school systems and programs his entire life.

He was the owner of Athletics Recruitment Consultants in Bloomington, IN. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed fly-fishing, all other sports and loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Dean is survived by the love of his life, Betty Cordel, daughters Camille (Russell) Wheeler, Tamara (Ron) Leard and Jennifer (Brady) Showalter, brothers Jack (Sherry) McAsey, Mark (Marcia) McAsey, Gregg (Kim) McAsey and Mike (Cindy) McAsey, grandchildren Kassidi (Matthew) Lienemann, Kain Anderson, Bryce Wheeler, Bailey Wheeler, Sean (Brooke) Brice, Madison (Brandon) Brice, Cody (Kari) Pfaff, Keith (Kodi) Pfaff, Carrie Pfaff, Austin (Brittney) Showalter and great-grandchildren, Kale, Kyle, Deegan, Waylon and Brayleigh.

Dean was cremated and requested no funeral services be held.

There will be a Celebration of Life on Oct. 6, 2018 at Beaumont House located in Bloomington, IN. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the Dean McAsey Athletic Scholarship in care of Jennifer Showalter, P.O. Box 2251, Bloomington, IN, 477402.
