Donna M. Zey of Abilene passed away peacefully Sunday, Dec. 29, 2019 at the Memorial Hospital in Abilene. She was born Nov. 30, 1928 in Newton, the daughter of Robert Victor “Vic” and Katherine (Burnett) Johnston.
Gerald “Jerry” Lee Karr, 83, passed away at the Holiday Resort in Emporia, Kansas, on Dec. 8, 2019 after several hospitalizations related to cancer. Jerry was born on Oct. 15, 1936 in Emporia, Kansas, the oldest of eight children born to Orren and Kathleen (Keller) Karr.
“Bev” Beverly Jean Schmutz, 79, of Abilene passed away Sunday, Dec. 8, 2019 at Salina Regional Medical Center. She was born Nov. 24,1940, the daughter of Ralph “Pete” and Phyllis (Dobbins) Schmutz.
Carolyn Elaine Lehner, 82, of Abilene passed away Monday, Dec. 9, 2019 at Village Manor Nursing Home in Abilene. She was born Jan. 23, 1937 in Junction City, the daughter of Ernest and Geraldine (Seubert) Norman.
Mary Alice Waylan, age 82, passed away on Nov. 22, 2019. Mary Alice was born May 27, 1937 at Emporia, KS, St. Mary’s Hospital and was the daughter of Leonard and Marjorie (Bitler) Rossillon. She was the oldest of six children.
Ruth Jana (Outler) Rogers, 89, entered the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Nov. 24, 2019 at Mennonite Friendship Communities, South Hutchinson, Kansas. The daughter of Herman and Bessie Outler, she was born in Mankato, Kansas on September 7, 1930.
On Nov. 22, 15-point bucks and 20-pound walleye took a collective breath. Hunting scopes and fishing poles owned by Jory rested patiently. Paint brushes, canvases and colored pencils stayed tucked into their holding places, and Jory’s musical and artistic works halted without completion.

Virginia “Ginny” L. Wells, 78, of Abilene, Kansas, went home to be with the Lord on Nov. 2, 2019. Virginia was born Oct. 17, 1941, in Slayton, Minnesota, to Kenneth and Rose (Gustaf) Christiensen. She was raised in Minnesota and graduated from Tracy High School in Tracy, Minnesota, in 1959.

Linda Agnes (Meis) Dowen, 78, formerly of Solomon, KS, passed away on Oct. 17, 2019 at Abilene, KS, at Abilene Place Assisted Living where she had been a resident since May 2016, moving there from the nursing home in Wilson, KS.
