CHAPMAN –– Richard W. Booth, 82, Chapman, died Monday, June 17, 2013, at the Geary Community Hospital in Junction City.
He was born Sept. 25, 1930, in Glen Elder, the son of William and Florence (McBlair) Booth. Richard graduated from Glen Elder High School and Brown-Mackie School of Business in Salina
Richard worked for Ft. Riley as the Chief of Military Pay from 1965 until retiring in 1996.
On Sept. 30, 1950, he married Betty Jane King in Stockton. Richard is survived by his three children Steven Booth of Randolph, Kimberly Land and Gina Richardson both of Abilene; brothers Robert of Manor, Texas; Jerry Blass and Jim Blass both of Beloit; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Jane and his parents.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 21, 2013, at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery at Ft. Riley with Rev. Robert Frasier officiating.
