Abilene’s Great Life golf courses will play host to two junior golf tournaments as part of the junior Hot Dog Tour.
Mike Webb, teaching professional at Stagg Hill golf course in Manhattan, conducts the golf tournaments for junior golfers of any age through high school.
Depending on the age group and the golf course, the junior golfers will tee off from 150 to 100 yards out from the green.
Thursday, approximately 20 junior golfers began play at 9:30 a.m. at the Great Life Chisholm Trail golf course.
Golfers from around the area as well as youngsters from Abilene participated in the event.
The golfer carries their own clubs and receives instruction along the way from their parents or tournament assistants.
There is a minimal fee for each day that includes a round of golf and a hot dog when finished.
“We usually have around 20 to 25 golfers at each event location, today we were missing four young ladies who have usually participated, so the number would have been close to the 25 that we shoot for,” Webb said.
Anyone with questions about the Hot Dog Tour can find info at the Junior Hot Dog Golf Tour on facebook or contact Mike Webb at 785-410-2295.
