The death of a 3-year-old Abilene girl has been listed as an accident.
Abilene Lt. Michael Kyle said approximately 7 a.m. Saturday police received a 911 call concerning a 3-year-old female child that was not breathing. Abilene police officers responded along with EMS to assist.
“Our officer discovered the child was deceased,” Kyle said. “Anytime we have a juveniles or anytime an unattended, unexpected death we conduct an investigation. With a young child like that with no medical history we investigate.”
Police are ruling the death of Kiley Marie Dickey accidental and that the child suffocated on a small plastic toy sometime during the night.
Police said her parents put her to bed at the normal time Friday night and in the morning discovered she was not breathing.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Danner Funeral Home.
She is survived by her mother Sarah D. Dickey of Clay Center, father Joshua S. Dickey and step-mother Eleni Dickey of Abilene and half-sister Emelia Dickey of Abilene.
