Ingrid Monika Brown, 70 died June 4, 2013 at Ellis Fischel Cancer Center, University of Missouri Health Care, Columbia, Mo.
Ingrid was born June 11, 1942 near Koenigsberg, Prussia during World War II. She was a homemaker and previously customer service representative at Pangburn Candy Co., Ft. Worth, Texas.
She is preceded in death by her father, Otto Karl Graeber and her mother, Frieda Emma Tiburski Graeber, both of Offenbach, West Germany. Prior to coming to the United States she was an international telephone operator in Offenbach.
Ingrid married Roy Brown April 2, 1976 in Bedford, Texas. They moved to Abilene in 1982. She is survived by her husband Roy and two children, Chris (Karla) Efurd of Abilene; and Mark Efurd of Marshall, Texas; four grandchildren, Monika, Nick, Kristen and Carrie Efurd, Abilene; one great granddaughter; four step children and nine step grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday, June 7 at the Danner Funeral Home with Rev. Jason Kohler officiating. Interment will follow in the Newbern Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 5:30 until 6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 6, at the Danner Funeral Home. The family suggests memorial contributions in her name be made to the Elsie Brooks Memorial Cancer Fund. They may be left at or sent in care of the Danner Funeral Home. P.O. Box 758 Abilene, KS 67410.
