Margaret J. (Kyle) Bland
Margaret J. (Kyle) Bland, 89, died Jan. 2, 2013, in Abilene.
She was born Jan. 15, 1923, in Abilene, the daughter of Roger A. and Ruby I. (Landes) Kyle.
She attended Glenwood and Johnson schools and Dickinson County Community High School, Chapman.
Twins, Margaret and Marjorie Kyle, were the first twins born in Abilene Memorial Hospital. Margaret was a military wife and made homes for her family all over the world.
In 1978, she returned to Abilene to care for her father. She had been employed at Duckwalls, ASC Office, and then at West’s IGA until her retirement in 1986. She attended First Methodist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Catherine Kyle and twin sister Marjorie Kyle Ryder; granddaughter, Sonja Fischer.
A cherished mother and grandmother, she will be sadly missed by her
daughter and son-in-law, Barbara & Keith Emig, Abilene; son and wife, Roger and Sibyl Bland, Snohomish, Wash.; three grandchildren, Paul Fischer, Jodi (Tony) Thompson and Brian (Linda) Emig; brother-in-law, Chuck Ryder,seven great-grandchildren: Brooke and Beck Fischer, Grace and Matthew Thompson, and Megan, Logan and Reagan Emig, and one great, great granddaughter, Paisley Rae Emig, who brought her joy in her final days.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. – 8 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at Martin, Becker Carlson Funeral Home with Pastor Brian Emig officiating.
Inurnment will follow at the Abilene Cemetery.
