The Abilene Public Library’s Adult Summer Reading Program, Ground Breaking Reads, begins Tues., June 4.
The first 75 participates to register will receive a free book light. After reading, listening to, or viewing an item from the library, participants may fill out an entry form for a weekly drawing. A grand prize drawing will take place July 30. This program is free and open to the public.
The Abilene Public Library will host a Brown Bag Special Tues., June 4 at noon. The film will investigate four stories of the Wild West involving Kit Carson, Yakima Canutt, the song Tumbling Tumbleweeds and the Modoc Indian Wars. Participants are invited to bring their lunch.
The film is approximately fifty minutes in length and is open to the public. The library will show a new documentary every Tuesday at noon until July 30.
