CHAPMAN –– Harold Paul Bordelon, 82, Chapman, died Tuesday, May 28, 2013.
Hal was born March 1, 1931 at Marksville, La. His parents were Philbert and Corine Helminger Bordelon. He attended grade school and graduated from high school in Marksville, La.
He was married to Ellen Ione Esker on Sept. 5, 1953, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Santa Anna, Calif. They lived in the Orange County community, and he worked at several jobs before moving to Las Vegas where he worked as a purchasing agent at the Nevada Test Site. After his retirement, they moved to Chapman in 1995. He was preceded in death by his wife on Jan. 3, 2001.
He is survived by one son Stephen Bordelon of the home. He was preceded in death by his parents Philbert and Corine, his wife Ellen, two sisters: Laura Cutrer and Dorothy Ducote, and one brother Jack Bordelon.
The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Chapman, 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 1, 2013. Father Henry Baxa will officiate. Burial will be at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, northeast of Chapman. The Rosary will be recited at the Londeen Funeral Chapel in Chapman at 7 p.m. Friday, followed by visitation with the family. The Londeen Funeral Chapel will be open for visitation at 5 p.m., before the Rosary.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to St. Michael’s Catholic Church, St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Chapman Senior Center, or the Chapman American Legion Post #240. Memorials may be sent to the Londeen Funeral Chapel, Box 429, Chapman, KS 67431.
