Lloyd K. Facklam, 90, passed away Friday, May 24th, in Abilene. He was born September 26, 1922 on the family farm south of Enterprise, the son of Charles and Grace (Bender) Facklam. He attended Enterprise schools until the beginning of his freshman year, at which time he quit to help run the family farm.
He served in WW II in the U.S. Army Air Corps, 8th Airforce. On October 21, 1945 he married Mina Agnes Bowers in Abilene. The early years of their married life was spent farming and working in the Enterprise area. In 1953, they moved to Seattle, Washington where he worked for the Fisher Flower Mills until retiring and moving back to Abilene in 1993.
Mina preceded him in death in 2007. He was also preceded in death by an infant brother, Charles Jr. Facklam.
Survived by: Daughter Carolyn (Jim) Ihnot, Redmond, WA; 2 Sons Dennis Facklam and companion Lori Johnson. Solomon, Bob (Sue) Facklam Choteau, MT; Twin Brother, Floyd (Dorthy) Facklam, Abilene, Brother, Kenny (Elaine) Facklam, Abilene, 5 Granddaughters, 1 Great-grandson 1 Great-granddaughter, 2 Nieces, 2 Nephews.
The family has chosen cremation. A memorial service will be held 10:00 A.M. Thursday, May 30th, at the First Baptist Church in Abilene, Pastor Jack Gilstrap officiating, with visitation following. Inurnment will take place at a later date.
The family suggests memorial contributions in his name be made to the Lloyd Facklam Memorial Fund, to be designated later. They may be left at the church the day of the service or left at or sent in care of the Danner Funeral Home POB 758 Abilene, Kansas 67410.
