What inspired you to go into education? I have always wanted to be a teacher, even when I was a little girl, however I had a high school Freshman Advanced English teacher who really piqued my curiosity about teaching. Watching her teach, her compassion, her understanding of awkward freshman, and her enthusiasm for her profession was truly an inspiration. My high school band directors were also a driving force in my choice to become a music teacher.
A memorable teaching moment: I think my most memorable teaching moments happen every April during the week of the Garfield and St. Andrew’s Spring Programs.
Hearing and seeing all the students on the high school stage or in the St. Andrew’s Gym singing together, making music, and sharing their musical gift to the community always makes glad that I am a music teacher.
