HERINGTON – Robert “Bob” Finley, 83, of Herington, died Tuesday, May 8, 2013, at the Medicalodges of Herington. He was born on May 20, 1929, at Brookings, S.D., the son of Rev. S. Ben and Fern B. (Judd) Finley.
Mr. Finley was a retired over the road truck driver. He graduated from Luray High School with the class of 1947.
He married Irene E. L. Latzke on Feb. 23, 1951, at the Lyona Methodist Church, she survives of the home. He is also survived by a son Ralph Finley of Chapman; two daughters: Mary McIntyre of Osage City, and Kathleen Svitak of Pilsen; two brothers: Dennis Finley of Wichita, and Jim Finley of Blunt, S.D.; and two sisters: Mary Ekey of Topeka, and Laurie Ann Lautt of Harden, Mont. He is also survived by six grandsons, 11 great- grandchildren, and two step-great grandchildren .
He is preceded in death by his son John Finley on June 10, 1976; and his parents.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 11, 2013, at the Lyona Methodist Church, rural Junction City, with Rev. Carol Moore Ramey officiating. Burial will follow at the Lyona Methodist Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at the Lyona Methodist Church.
