Billy G. Danner, 78, died Wednesday, May 1, in Abilene. He was born June 22, 1934 in Fairbury, Neb., the son of Floyd E. and Florence E. (Baker) Danner. Growing up in Fairbury, he attended local schools.
In 1961, he married Darlene Vernie, later divorcing. On Sept. 7, 1985, he married Betty L. Bartlett. All of their married life was spent in Abilene. Billy had been employed by Ehrsham/ABB foundry in Enterprise before retiring after 28 years, then Zey’s grocery store and Alco in Abilene. He was preceded in death by a brother John and a twin brother Bob.
He is survived by wife Betty L. Danner, Abilene, four daughters Deborah Cody, El Dorado; Rebekah Medlock, Abilene; Clara Holub Marion; Rebecca Branion, Wareham, Mass.; two sons Mark Bartlett, Arkansas City; Michael Bartlett, Salina, and many grand and great-grandchildren
Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Monday, May 6, at the Abilene Brethren in Christ Church with Pastor Don Goodwin officiating. Interment will follow in the Brown Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday, May 5, at the Danner Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials in his name be made to the Abilene United Brethren in Christ Church.
