TOWANDA –– The Chapman Irish tennis team competed in the Circle Varsity Tennis Quad in Towanda, Thursday.
“Mother nature allowed us a day to finally get out and play,” Chapman Coach Tony Ingram said.
Adrian Fink, No.1 singles player placed first with wins of 8-0 and 8-2.
Chapman’s Shane Williams, No. 2 singles player, also won the Quad with scores of 8-2 and 8-0.
The fighting Irish’s two doubles teams finished third place in the meet.
Riley O’Neal and Chet Floyd had scores of 2-8, 3-8, 8-7, (7-5) as the No. 1 doubles team.
The Irish No. 2 doubles team of Nathan Nelson and Cade Stroud finished with 6-8, 5-8 and 8-4.
“The boys competed very well and were just one win away from winning the tournament,” Ingram said.
The team has improved throughout this season and is evident by our finishes in tournaments.” Ingram added.
“We move on to our NCKL tournament on Saturday and Regional’s are next week, “ coach Ingram concluded.
