NAVARRE –– James Leroy Hilty, 65 of Navarre, Kansas passed away Sunday, April 21, 2013 at Mercy Regional Health Center in Manhattan, Kansas. He was born March 28, 1948 in Benkelman, Nebraska, the son of Carl and Velma (Holl) Hilty. He graduated from Bird City High School in 1966.
James spent most of his life traveling the highways across the United States working as a truck driver. He drove for several truck companies throughout his life.
James leaves behind two sons, Ryan Hilty and wife Lynnette of Hutchinson, Kansas and Darron Hilty and wife Dawn of Frisco, Texas. A sister, Carol Gamblin and husband Don of St. Francis, Kansas. Four Grandchildren, Kacia, Carson, Kate and Lauren Hilty. One Niece, Krista Pummer; one great-nephew, Jonathan Hilty; two great-nieces, Davada and Britany Pummer. He was preceded in death by his parents, and son Matthew Carl Hilty.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home in Abilene, Kansas at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, April 27, 2013 with Pastor Lindsey Brummer officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Association and may be sent in care to Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home, 414 NW Third St., Abilene, Kansas 67410.

Another Memorial Service for James will be held Monday, April 29, 2013 at Wesleyan Church in Bird City, Kansas, at 10:30 A.M. with Pastor Dan Carson officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Bird City Cemetery.
