DETROIT –– James Davis Blodgett, a resident of Detroit, KS, passed away at his home on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at the age of 71.
David was born October 9, 1941 at Macon, MIssouri. His parents were Herschel and Vivian Hahn Blodgett. He attended grade school, and graduated from high school in Macon, Missouri. He was an Over-The-Road trucker for 45 years. He was married to Barbara Marie Patton December 24, 1966 in Clarence, Missouri. They had lived in Chillicothe, MIssouri before moving to Detroit, KS in 1980.
He is survived by his wife Barbara of their home; one sister Marge Jeffries of Chillicothe, Missouri; two sisters-in-law: Leona R. Blodgett of Detroit, KS, and Barbara S. Blodgett of Brookfield, MO; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Herschel and Vivian; two sisters: Nancy Bealmer and an infant sister Virginia Blodgett; three brothers: Omer Blodgett, Billy Blodgett, and Michael Blodgett.
A Memorial Service will be held at the First Southern Baptist Church of Dickinson County, 1400 N. Mulberry, Abilene, KS on Monday, April 22, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. Pastor Terry will officiate. The family will have a private burial of the ashes at a later time. The Londeen Funeral Chapel in Chapman, KS is in charge of the arrangements.
