SAWYER - Judith Gail Johnson (Bales) (Nixon) age 69 died at her home, Thursday April 11, 2013. Judy was born in Pratt, on July 4, 1943 to the late Dale and Georgia Mae Johnson.
Judy graduated from Pratt High School in 1963 and earned her Bachelorís degree in English from Emporia State University. Judy was married to Roger Bales of Pratt from 1966 to 2000. Judy married Jim Nixon of Barber County in 2004.
Judy was a social worker for the State of Kansas. Judy retired in 2003 as a state supervisor
Judy is preceded in death by her parents and son Christopher Bales. Judy is survived by former husband Roger Bales of Abilene, their three children son Joel Bales of Abilene, daughters Sara Bales of Portland, Ore., and Katie Allen of Abilene, two grandchildren; brother Greg Johnson. She is also survived by her husband Jim Nixon of Barber County; Jimís son Nick of McPherson, daughter Deena Dighton, and four grandchildren.
Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Road, Pratt. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at Larrison Mortuary with John Hamm officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Pratt.
