Memorial Health System is pleased to announce that Dr. Dina Verner has joined Comprehensive Pain Solutions as medical director.
Dr. Verner is a physiatrist, which means she is a physician with specialty in physical medicine and rehabilitation. She was previously in a group practice in Topeka working at the Kansas Rehabilitation Hospital, St. Francis Health Center, and Stormont-Vail Regional Health Center.
According to Dr. Verner, Comprehensive Pain Solutions is an interdisciplinary pain management clinic that offers various treatments to control pain and improve function and quality of life.
“If someone’s pain is better, they can function and perform better,” she said.
The clinic will also offer services to those patients suffering from disabling conditions that affect their overall functional ability such as those struggling with stroke recovery, traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, neuromuscular disorders (i.e., Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis), musculoskeletal disorders, generalized weakness, deformities, fractures, sports injuries, wound healing, surgery recovery, and more.
She says that her goal is to help Comprehensive Pain Solutions patients who are struggling with conditions that cause them pain and/or render them disabled to be more functionally independent.
Dr. Verner is seeing patients four days a week at the clinic, which is open Monday through Thursday. Patients must have a physician’s referral to be seen at Comprehensive Pain Solutions.
Dr. Verner and her husband, David, recently relocated near Abilene. She says that she is more accustomed to big city life, and appreciates the slow lifestyle of small towns.
“I am glad that, here in Abilene, I can spend more time with patients and give them better care, since they can present such complex problems,” she said.
