HOPE –– Conard Frank Hartman, 92, of Hope, Kansas passed away Monday, April 1, 2013 at Windsor Estates Nursing Home in Salina, Kansas. He was born January 30, 1921, in Elmo, Kansas, the son of John Jacob and Anna Marie (Ryff) Hartman.
On November 10, 1946, he married Anna “Catherine” (Fisher) Hartman at the Abilene United Brethren Church. She preceded him in death August 12, 2012. Conard served in the Army during WWII, in the 5th Infantry, 71st Division 3rd Army.
He is survived by his daughter Judy Hall and husband Kenneth of Gypsum, Kansas; his son Merle Hartman and wife Pamela of Andover, Kansas; 3 grandchildren Marcia Wells and her husband Jeff, Kevin Hall and his wife Genny, Michael Hall and his wife Lisa. 8 great grandchildren; Brooke, Erica and Taylor Wells,; Emalie and Karson Hall, Callan, Griffin, and Braxton Hall. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and a grandson Edward Eugene Hall.
Funeral services for Conard will be 10:30 A.M., Friday, April 5, 2013 at the Temple Church with Reverend Charles Norman, Reverend John Schaich and Mr. Ken Fisher officiating. Burial will follow at Banner Cemetery near Elmo, Kansas with full Military Honors provided by Ft. Riley Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM, Thursday evening at the Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home of Abilene. Memorial contributions may be made to the Temple Church or Hospice of Salina and may be sent in care of the Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home, 414 NW 3rd, Abilene, Kansas 67410.
