CONCORDIA – The Chapman boy’s tennis team participated in the Concordia Tennis Quad on Thursday, March 28th.
Teams participating were Concordia, Ellsworth, and St. John’s Military (Salina) and Chapman. Chapman’s number one singles player Shane Williams finished (0-3) by dropping matches 1-8,1-8,1-8.
Chet Floyd finished in first place for the Irish with scores 8-4,8-2 and 8-2.
The number one doubles team of Adrian Fink and Riley O’Neal ended 1-2 with match scores of 2-8, 8-2 and 2-8.
Nathan Nelson and Kade Stroud finished 3-0 as the number doubles team went 8-6,8-6 and 8-4.
“By far our best day weather wise and our number two singles and number two doubles played very well,” Irish Coach Tony Ingram said.
“Both teams were consistent in their play and that is something we have been emphasizing in this early season,” coach Ingram added.
‘We have two very tough tournaments next week as we head to Ellsworth on Tuesday and Hillsboro, Thursday,” concluded coach Ingram.
Team scores: Ellsworth 17, Chapman 15, Concordia 15, and St. John’s 13.
