Hometown: Barneston Neb. My dad was a Union Pacific Depot agent there.
What inspired you to go into education? My mom was a district clerk for the school. She worked with teachers and I grew up around them. One or two teachers in particular inspired me to go into education. They made do with their materials and equipment and made the most of our small town facilities.
I learned to love reading and learning in the home and in school. My first superintendent, Mr. Frank Randel, and my first principal, Mr. Jim Collins, inspired me to stay in education and to get my counseling degree. My husband, Greg, has supported my desire to work and have a family by being a partner in the home.
A memorable teaching moment: After this many years, itís difficult to name just one. Coaching moments are easy...the trips to state and the relationships established. Counseling moments sometimes come years later when we see students working, growing and helping others.
I know Iíve been blessed to work in the two districts Iíve been lucky enough to be a part of.
