Carl Ihde, 82 of Abilene, died Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at his residence. Mr. Ihde was born Dec. 31, 1930. in Yuma, Colo., the son of Gustave and Henni (Bielefeld) Ihde.
Carl worked as a conductor for the railroad. After he retired from the railroad, he continued staying busy by farming.
In June, 1955 he married Muriel (Ayres) Ihde in Herington. She survives. Other survivors include two sons, Michael Ihde of Laurel, Mont. and Mark Ihde of Kansas City, Mo. Son-in-law, Lance Plaice of Eudora, Kan. Three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter Marcie Plaice, sister, Delores Albrecht and parents.
Funeral services for Mr. Ihde were 1 p.m. Monday, March 18, 2013, at St. Johnís Lutheran Church at Lyons Creek of Herington. Final resting place will be held at Sunset Hill Cemetery in Herington with Military honors conducted by Ft. Riley Honor Guard.
