Edith Sloane

SUPERIOR, Neb. – Edith Sloane, 92, Superior, Neb., died Dec. 20, 2012, in Superior.

She was born May 17, 1920, to John and Olivia (Bethscheider) McDonald.

Edith was one of nine children; she received her formal education attending Sacred Heart Catholic School in Hebron and graduated from Hebron High School. She was united in marriage to William Clair Sloane on July 29, 1950, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hebron, Neb.. To this union 11 children were born.

She lived in the communities of Hebron and Superior and was a resident of the Good Samaritan Society in Superior.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Clair on Oct. 21, 2007; sons Albert, John and Patrick, a granddaughter Kim Griffith and one great grandchild; five brothers and three.

She is survived by her children: Teresa Wilson and William F. “Bill, both of Superior, Neb., Monica Buster, Deshler, Neb., Robert, Donald, Karen Harwell, Janice Hatzenbuehler, and Jennifer Wyatt, all of Superior, and John, of Abilene; 29 grandchildren and 44 great grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial was at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Hebron, Neb. with clergy Fr. Rudy Oborny and Rev. Brad Zitek officiating.

Burial was in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Hebron, Neb.

A rosary service was Sunday.

Memorials in lieu of flowers are suggested to the Sacred Heart Cemetery
