Janet L. Bird

Janet L. Bird, 74, died Wednesday, Dec. 19, in Abilene.

She was born April 10, 1938 in Abilene, the daughter of Russ and Margaret (Dessenberger) Mills.

Growing up in Abilene, she attended local schools. On June 1, 1972, she was married to Leonard Bird. All of their married life was spent in Lincoln, Kan.

He preceded her in death April 16, 1999.

In 2000, Janet moved back to Abilene to make her home. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Margene Garcia.

She is survived bya son, David Mills, Abilene; and a sister, Carol Livingston, Emporia.

The family will receive friends 5:30 until 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, at the Danner Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Friday, Dec. 21, at the Danner Funeral Home with Pastor Stan Norman officiating, interment will follow at 2 p.m.. at the Lincoln Cemetery in Lincoln, Kansas.
