Althea Marie Bowyer

CONCORDIA �� Althea Marie Bowyer, 83, Concordia, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, at Salina Regional Health Center.

She was born Feb. 21, 1929, to Webster and Lottie (Schmidt) Janke at rural Woodbine.

Althea graduated from Chapman High School. She married Vernon Bowyer on July 24, 1949. He preceded her in death on May 29, 1998. They owned and operated the Gamble Store in Concordia from 1970-1992.

She is survived by three sons, Stanley Bowyer, Salina; Joel Bowyer, Concordia; and Lyle Bowyer, Ottawa; one brother, Allen Janke, Manhattan; six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23 at the First United Methodist Church, Concordia, with Pastor Tessa Zehring officiating. Burial will be at a later date.

Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday at Nutter Mortuary Chapel.

Memorials may be given to First United Methodist Church.
