JUNCTION CITY –– Bernice Ruth Gould a resident of Junction City, KS, passed away Sunday, February 10, 2013 at The Good Shepherd Hospice House in Manhattan, KS at the age of 90.
Bernice was born February 26, 1922 in Minnesota. Her parents were Gilbert and Josephine (Webber) Schultz. She attended grade school and high school in Minnesota. She was married to Arthur Eugene Gould on June 26, 1938 at Bemidji, Minnesota. They lived at various places in Oregon, Missouri, and had lived in Junction City, KS for the past several years. After nearly 63 years of married happiness, she was preceded in death by her husband Arthur on June 9, 2001. She was a member of the Church of Christ, Temple Lot, and the TOPS Club of Junction City, KS. She loved to crochet beautiful doillies, afghans, and made quilts.
She is survived by one son Raymond Gould and his wife Maurine of Junction City, KS; two daughters: Elizabeth Tabler and her husband Melvin of Odessa, MO, and Shirley Reeds and her husband Gary of Springfield, MO; nine grandchildren and eight grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Gilbert and Josephine Schultz, her husband Arthur, two infant children LeRoy and Sissy, two sisters: Ramona Kitzman and Frances Gilespie, four brothers: Harland, Raymond, Marvin, and Leon Schultz.
Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church at 624 N. Jefferson in Junction City, KS on Friday, February 15, 2013 at 10:30 A.M. Pastor James H. Callaway, Jr. will officiate. The family will receive friends at the First Baptist Church Friday morning, February 15, beginning at 9:30 A.M.
Burial will be at the Highland Cemetery in Junction City, KS.
The Londeen Funeral Chapel in Chapman, KS is in charge of the arrangements. The family requested that Memorials may be given to the First Baptist Church in Junction City, KS or The Good Shepherd Hospice House in Manhattan, KS.
