WAKEFIELD –– Charles B. “Chuck” Ryan, 71, Wakefield, died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at the Memorial Hospital in Abilene.
He was born Oct. 24, 1941, the son of Lawrence and Bernadine (Steele) Ryan. He graduated from Abilene High School and worked for Solomon Electric and then worked for area farmers.
On March 11, 1964, he married Anita Beaver in Miami, Okla. She survives of the home. Other survivors include his daughter Anita Green of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; sons Jack of Rifle, Colo., Larry of Clay Center, Barry of Yorktown, Va; brother Mike of Junction City; sisters Kathlene Lovelace of Abilene, Bernadine Nogle of Abilene, Francene Hockensmith of Salina, Marilyn Seidner of Manhattan, Joan Bowler of Paxico; 19 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his sons David and Todd, sister Louis and his parents.
Cremation is planned. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. to noon before the service at the church.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at the Madura Church in Wakefield, with Rev. Todd Britt officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Charles Ryan Memorial Fund and may be sent in care of the Madura Church in Wakefield.
