What inspired me to go into education was the chance to work with youth and help them develop their character while fostering a love of science and an understanding of their own human body and how it works. I had been working nights at a hospital in Kansas City and began substitute teaching and simply fell in love with the classroom.

memorable moment happens almost every day in my classroom. A student does well on a test and is proud of himself or herself. A student comes in for help and I get the chance to work with him or her one on one. A former student messages me to let me know that they are using what they learned in my class to succeed in their biology college course or EMT course. I love what I do, and I simply cannot imagine my life without the classroom.
