SALINA –– Paul Everett ‘Bud’ Lipe, 86, of Salina, died on Jan. 28, 2013, at Windsor Estates Nursing Home. Bud was born on Oct. 17, 1926, in Smolan, Kan., to Irene and Paul Lipe. He served time in the Army at Fort Bragg, N.C., and had been stationed in the Philippines. Bud was a diesel mechanic at Central Kansas Supply and retired from Graves Truck Line.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Chuck Lipe, of Aurora, Colo.; and a sister, Ann Simmons, of Solomon.
Bud is survived by his wife, Barbara Lipe, of the home; his sons, Roger Lipe, of Wichita, DeWayne Lipe, of Salina, and David Lamer, of Edmond, Okla.; daughters, Teresa Vilardell, of Salina, Cindy Miller, of Edmond, and Shana Stitt, of Topeka; sister, Ruth Hackney, of Abilene; and sister-in-law, Pat Lipe, of Aurora, Colo. He is survived by 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will from noon to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 1, at Ryan Mortuary, Salina. Burial will follow in Crown Point Cemetery, Culver.
