The Abilene and Chapman cross country teams will compete Saturday in the Class 4A regional meet on the Rolling Acres Golf Course.
Buhler, Clay Center, Colby, Concordia, Goodland, Hugoton, Larned, Smoky Valley, McPherson, Nickerson, Pratt, Russell, Scott City and Ulysses will join Abilene and Chapman at the meet.
The girls’ teams will take to the course at 3 p.m. followed by the boys at 3:30.
Each of the four regionals will qualify three teams per regional and the top 10 runners per division with the possibility of additional individual qualifiers according to the Kansas High School Activities Association.
Other regionals will be held at Bonner Springs, El Dorado and Ottawa with the state qualifiers advancing to Wamego Saturday Nov. 2 along with qualifying runners in Class 1A and 2A.
