The Chapman cross-country team hosted the Chapman Invitational Cross-Country meet Thursday.
There were no team points kept at this meet and each runner ran in their own age group rather than varsity. junior varsity and middle school divisions.
The 7th grade girls ran a one-mile run and placing for Chapman was Madeline Elliott, ninth in 6:45, Bryanna Albert 27th, 7:17 and Schallynne Huber, 38th 7:38. Gabe Barten placed 10th in 6:07 for the seventh grade boys.
The eighth grade boys and girls ran a two-mile course with Lindsey Anderson finishing fourth in 14:05, Pierce Hayden finished third for the boys in 12:42, Chris Lockwood, 11th, 13:32, Tanner Medrano, 22nd, 14:31, Colin Henderson, 28th, 14:53, Connor Pruente, 34th, 15:28, Tyler Edwards, 47th, 18:03 and Kade Demuth, 53rd, 19:12.
Amber Hahn finished first in 17:18 in the freshman/sophomore girls 4K race. Rebekah Thomas, third, 18:15 and Sarah Bieker, fourth, 18:19.
Kylee Bemis finished 15th in the junior/senior girls 4K run in 24:05.
Running for the Irish in the freshman/sophomore boys class Wyatt Pryor placed fifth in 19:36, Ryan Hopkins, 18th, 21:25, Tyler Schwartz, 19th, 21:27, and Jeremy Rodgers, 32nd, 24:29.
In the junior/senior boys 5K event, Lane Coberly set a seasonal personal record by placing seventh in 18:50, Clinton Henderson, 20th, 21:23 and Jordon Henderson, 23rd, 22:42.
“This meet helps us get geared up for the North Central Kansas League meets next week and head into the final parts of the season on a strong and positive note,” Irish Coach Cindy Zumbrunn said.
The Chapman varsity competes at the NCKL meet in Abilene Thursday.
