The Kansas State High School Activities Association announced the new district assignments Wednesday for football for the 2014 and 2015 campaigns. These district assignments are for football only.
Class 4A is impacted due to the recent split into two divisions. Abilene is in 4A Division I and was assigned to District 8 that includes Buhler, Hays and McPherson. Hays is in Class 4A for football only.
Division II, which includes Chapman, Clay Center, Concordia and Wamego of the North Central Kansas League assigned Chapman and Wamego to District 6 along with Smoky Valley and Nickerson. Clay Center will join Colby, Concordia and Goodland in the new District 7.
Solomon plays 8-man football in Division I and will be in District 5 along with Canton-Galva, Claflin, Ellinwood, Goessel and Little River.
Hope High School and White City High will join together to play football under the team name Rural Vista Heat and play in District 3 of 8-Man Division I. Other teams in their district include Burlingame, Lebo, Madison/Hamilton, Peabody-Burns and Rosalia-Flint Hills.
