Sentencing of a former school teacher accused of having sexual relations with a high school student was continued Wednesday.
Amber Stroda, 28, a former Solomon elementary teacher and high school dance team sponsor, entered into a plea agreement last month to having sexual relations with high school student three times at his residence last year.
Stroda resigned from USD 393 on Oct. 25, 2012 and turned herself into authorities on Feb. 7. She was originally charged with six counts of feloniously engaging in consensual sexual intercourse, 16 years or older, enrolled in school. Three of those counts were dismissed at an Aug. 7 hearing where Stroda pleaded guilty on the other three counts.
According to the agreement, Stroda was to enter into a sexual offenders treatment program, register as a sexual offender and pay costs.
According to Dickinson County Attorney Daryl Hawkins sentencing before Judge Ben Sexton was postponed until 1:30 p.m. Nov. 6.
