James George Dieter went to be with his wife Barbara in Heaven on September 24th, 2013. He was a prominent Attorney for over 50 years. Jim worked for Spencer Chemical Company, Gulf Oil Company, Gulf General Atomic, Bechtel Engineering, ABB and most recently as an Attorney with Evans, Kosut and Davidson. Jim was a Kansan first. He graduated from Kansas State with a BS in Chemical Engineering and then went on to Graduate with a law degree from Washburn University. He was an avid scuba diver, golfer, hunter and adventurer. He is survived by his daughter, Diane Dieter Hughes of Center Texas and his son Douglas Dieter of Houston, Texas. Jim was the proud grandfather of 4, Ryan Hughes, Meritt Hughes, Allyson Hughes and Kathryn Hughes. He also had 5 great grandchildren. Jim loved Houston and lived there for over 40 years. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and neighbors.
Services for Jim will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at the Oak Hill Presbyterian Church in Oak Hill with Reverend FrankLyn Schroeder officiating. His final resting place will be in the Rose Meron Cemetery near Oak Hill. The family of Jim will receive friends from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
