Tori Alderson, class of 2010, played two years of volleyball at Highland Community College before transferring to Kansas Newman University in Wichita.
Although born in Kansas City, Alderson graduated from Abilene High School and played on Cowgirls teams that went to state in Class 4A in 2009 and 2010.
Alderson had 160 digs as a freshman libero at Highland CC and 34 aces. As a sophomore she had 553 digs, 51 aces and 29 assists before continuing her education and volleyball career at Newman.
Alderson is the daughter of Darwin and Michelle Alderson of Abilene.
Alexis Dutt, class of 2011, is a junior setter at Drury University in Springfield, MO. She is majoring in English, writing and Spanish while also working for the school newspaper besides playing Div 2 volleyball.
In her sophomore season she led Drury with 645 assists with a career high 64 versus UMSL She ranked seventh the league for assists and currently ranks ninth all-time for assists with 1600.
In high school, Dutt was a two-time First Team All-State Class 4A selection and a unanimous All-North Central Kansas league selection in 2008, 2009 and 2010. She was selected Class 4A Kansas State All-Tournament team in 2009 and 2010 and was a KVA All-Star Game participant.
Academically Dutt was the class Valedictorian, earned KVA All-Academic Team honors, was a Kansas Honors Scholar and a Governor’s Scholar and graduated with a 4.0 grade point average. Alexis is the daughter of Greg and Sandi Dutt of Abilene.
Tara Hoekman, class of 2011, is a sophomore at Fort Hays State University. She is an Elementary Education major who redshirted her freshman year.
Hoekman played in 35 matches last season and made 11 starts as an outside hitter. She was ranked fourth on the team in digs with 281 and sixth on the team in service aces with 12. She reached double figures in digs in 13 matches with a season high of 21 against Pittsburg State in a five-set match. Hoekman reached season-high three assists in a match twice and she had season-high six kills against York College.
While in high school, she was First Team All-State Class 4A by the KVA in 2010 as well as a two-time all-league selection. She was named to the All-Tournament team at the State Tournament in 2010. Hoekman was also a two-time all-league selection in softball and an-league basketball player as a senior. She is the daughter of Vic and Suzanne Hoekman of Abilene.
