ROSSVILLE – The Rossville Bulldogs scored early and often against the Chapman Irish on Friday.
“It was a difficult game for us at Rossville Friday,” Chapman coach Trevor Williams said following the game. “They certainly jumped out on top and never looked back.”
Rossville’s Thatcher Horack, (6-0,179), junior running back/defensive back scored four touchdowns for the Bulldogs. He had three offensive scores on runs of 29, 20 and 11 yards and he had a 31 yard fumble return on defense.
Solomon’s Chris Blatt accounted for a 66 yard rushing touchdown for the Irish and converted one of two Chapman point after touchdown runs.
Robert Walsh had the other Irish score on a five yard run.
“Felt like that we really struggled in every aspect of the game,” Coach Williams said. “We have a lot of work ahead of us.
“It’s going to take effort and leadership for us to get it right, but I am confident that we’ve got it in us.”
“As for the game itself, there are just things in football you have to overcome and that is where we were on Friday night,” Coach Williams said. “We’ve got to find a way to overcome our obstacles.”
