Memorial Hospital does not offer cosmetic surgery, but its facilities are receiving some facelifts that staff members said will not only increase the building’s beauty but will also enhance patients’ experience.
Ann Brussow, marketing and communications director of Memorial Health Systems, said former hospital inpatients may not recognize the north patient hallway. Originally built in 1963, the area served as patient rooms 201-210 for the medical/surgical unit.
After renovations are complete, the area will serve as clinical space for Comprehensive Pain Solutions and office space for MHS’ patient financial services department.
Kent Knott, project supervisor of Alberici, MHS’ contractor, said Alberici will accept bids from interested subcontractors during the week of Sept. 16.
Knott said the demolition portion of the project is complete. Construction for the renovation is scheduled to start in late October.
